Nestled in the heart of South Beach, a grand hotel offers many amenities to soothe one's soul. Comfy beds, thick walls so you don’t have to hear your neighbor, balconies off each room so you can listen to the ocean while the sun goes down, and a large pool with foam floaties for the ultimate in laziness. If you are a late lounger, four o clock will soon be your favorite time of day as a serene pool attendant hands guests unlimited frozen purple grapes on a stick. I never knew grapes could taste so good. They almost taste perfumey and sweet, like those little English candies in a tin that you had when you were little. If you get sick of lounging at the pool you can make an appointment at the spa for a 40 dollar pedicure that will last a good two weeks. Feel like working out the vacation kinks? Get a massage from one of the many therapists on hand. But be weary of the included gratuity.

I of course was that numbskull who handed the manicurist a twenty dollar bill on top of what was already included. If spa treatments aren't your style, you can choose to just sit in a quiet room titled 'Serenity'. This room is filled with endless magazines and newspapers, water, tea, and even an apple or pear to satisfy your hunger. Soft music plays in the background and light is purposely dim enough to put you to sleep. They provide you with a bathrobe and slippers so you are unrestrained by the wares of any outside disturbances, including your own clothes.

If you are ready for dinner and drinks, or even a light bite, the lounge in the lobby provides great fare. Try the personal thin crust pizza or the homemade chicken noodle soup. Cozy up with your meal on the comfy couches in the lounge as you mingle with customers at the bar. I chose to sit outside on the rattan lounge chairs with a nice breeze blowing through the palm trees as I sipped on a glass of French wine. It became a bit chilly so the bar manager brought me a complimentary cream shawl. Could anything be better? Ultimate relaxation and great service make this a hotel where you don’t need to leave to find perfection. You have it all right there at your fingertips.
